In 2016, the late Mary Kerr of the Washington Historical Society formed a committee to begin discussing a historical research project in conjunction with the town’s upcoming bicentennial in 2025. Those meetings evolved into the Washington Rewind project, a collection of historically accurate articles about Washington and its people. Early in the process, Kerr turned the committee over to John Stromberger, who has overseen the project since 2018. Since the project’s inception, hundreds of articles have been written about the people, places, and events that have shaped our town’s history, covering all eras and all facets of our development. Washington Rewind will remain available beyond the bicentennial and remain a one-stop shop for all your favorite Washington stories.
